Ebook, Revision 2008
, is a product of the electronic age of desk top publishing. Early in 2007 I was made aware that the methods of publishing and printing my books had changed. I have a master copy of Antler and Iron II called a output, a half tone copy that in the past would be copied and reproduced on printing plates to be inked then printed on paper. The print shop I use has gone electronic and no longer uses the half tone outputs so I deceided to rewrite Antler and Iron II ebook/PDF on a CD.
Fortunately I keep just about everything and have most of the original photos, negatives and hand drawn artwork, tooling, and the antler handle folding knife that was made while writing "Antler and Iron II".
Some of the original photos and drawings were rescanned and processed for this document. Some new tooling and methods will be digitally photographed and used.
Additional tooling and building methods not available when the origiinal "Antler and Iron II" was published in 1995 are added. Color photos replace black and white ones when the tool or process can be recreated.
The revision has 17 more pages than the original. This project has been a great learning experience.
