About Us
At a Mt Man rendezvous in Poulsbo, WA many moons ago.  Less hair on my head now and the beard is gray, I was younger then but I'm still having fun pounding hot iron.
The shop cat, Nora, likes to sit on a warm anvil after I've been forging, especially when it's winter.

Gene Chapman  (Proprieter)

My hot iron adventure began in earnest after joining the Northwest Blacksmith Association in 1980. Since then my direction in hot iron has had varied paths, making fixed blade and folding knives, primitive knives, bladesmith workshops, blacksmithing, writing and publishing eight books on my work and shop stuff.
I still write and play at the forge developing new products, tooling, forged folk art cats, critters and little uglies.

Sorry but I have too many irons in the fire to do custom work.
